Mack Hils Press/Stamp Department Machine Operator Job Description
Summary
Set-up, operating and maintenance of Mechanical Presses such as Niagra Mechanical Punch Press,
Cincinnati 225 Ton Press, Amada Shears, Federal Press, 150 Ton Verson Press, Spot Welding Machines,
also to include loading and maintenance of Dies and loading Presses with Steel coils utilizing forklifts.
Essential Functions
- Perform operations safely using the following equipment:
o Stamping Presses (ranging from 90 Ton Presses to 225 Ton Presses)
o Dies
o Steel
o Spot Welders
o Shears
o Forklift
o Production Parts
o Computer
o Skids/Boxes - Receive job packets for production part orders
- Determine which Press and Die will be used to produce the production parts
- Operate high voltage spot welders in a safe manner. Involves placing fasteners on steel parts
and then initiating the high voltage welder to secure fastener to plate - Place finished part on skid/in box and move finished parts to next area of production
- Complete paperwork
- Ensure shop cleanliness in Press/Stamp Department Area

- Knowledge and use of protective wear
- Read blueprints and job packets
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS Sheets, blueprints, maintenance
instructions, and job procedures - Safely operate all presses and equipment used in the Press/Stamp Department
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate computer

guards, lockout/tagout procedures and emergency controls on all equipment in the Press/Stamp
Department - Loading and storage of all Dies used in the Press/Stamp Department
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
and hazardous chemicals - Regularly works near moving mechanical equipment and risk of electric shock
Physical Demands
- Required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to operate equipment
- Talk and hear
- Perform motions including bending, twisting, pushing and pulling
- Regularly required to lift, push or pull weight and/or carry objects weighing 5-100 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00-$22.00 Per Hour
