CDL Driver 1st shift

Summary

The driver is responsible for making on-time deliveries to Customers and/or material to sub-contractors as well as pick up material/parts from MHI Vendors, using the company vehicles. If necessary, Driver will also assist in packing and loading these orders. In addition, deliver and pick up parts and material from MHI storage facilities as requested including unloading material supplier shipments. Must possess a valid class A CDL License and pass physicals as required, and have knowledge of CDL requirements to keep license up-to-date.

Essential Functions

  • Pack, load and unload materials on trucks when necessary.
  • Receive or deliver paperwork and instructions for each shipment as necessary.
  • Secure load – whether using tractor-trailer, flatbed trailers or pickup truck.
  • Make sure directions to each destination are understood.
  • Trip destinations will vary depending on delivery requirements.
  • Request Company Credit Cards and/or cash as needed for trip from Accounting Department.
  • Complete expense reports and turn into Accounting Department when necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate Log Book of trips.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all company vehicles and trailers.
  • Report any maintenance or mechanical issues with the equipment to the MHI Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Represent MHI in a positive manner when dealing directly with our customers and vendors.
  • Any other function as directed by MHI Management.

  • Knowledge of and use of protective wear.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS Sheets, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to operate all Company Vehicles.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate Forklift.
  • Ability to maintain all licenses necessary to operate Company Vehicles.

  • While performing the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to operate equipment; push, pull and lift objects; talk and hear.
  • Perform motions including bending, twisting, pushing, pulling.
  • The employee will regularly be required to lift, push or pull weight and/or carry objects weighing 5 lbs and up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time without a significant rest period.
